🍫 Chocolate Making Workshop – Become a Young Chocolatier!

Calling all young chocolate lovers, budding chefs and creative minds!

Join Sheffield Young Explorers (SYE) for an exciting, delicious and hands-on Chocolate Making Workshop, where children aged 7–13 years will have the opportunity to step into the wonderful world of chocolate making and become chocolatiers for the day!

This fun-filled, interactive workshop is part of our SYE Skills-Based Workshops, designed to give children and young people the opportunity to discover new interests, develop practical life skills, explore their creativity and build confidence through exciting hands-on experiences.

Whether your child loves chocolate, enjoys experimenting with flavours or simply wants to try something new, this workshop promises an unforgettable experience filled with creativity, learning, laughter and plenty of chocolate!

Throughout the workshop, children will take part in a variety of exciting chocolate-themed activities, including:

🍫 Become a Young Chocolatier!
Discover the exciting art of chocolate making! Children will be introduced to the basic techniques of working with chocolate, learning how different ingredients, flavours and decorations can be combined to create delicious treats.

🍓 Create Your Own Chocolate Flavours
Get creative and experiment with different flavours, toppings and combinations! Children will have the opportunity to explore their taste preferences and develop their own unique chocolate creations.

🍫 Design and Make Your Own Chocolate Bar
Become a chocolate designer! Children will create their very own personalised chocolate bars, choosing from a selection of ingredients, decorations and toppings to make something truly special.

🎨 Creative Chocolate Decorating
Let your imagination run wild! Children will have fun decorating their chocolate creations using colourful toppings, sprinkles and creative designs, developing their artistic skills and attention to detail.

👩‍🍳 Explore Practical Cooking and Creative Skills
Through guided, hands-on activities, children will practise following instructions, measuring ingredients, making decisions and working independently while receiving support and encouragement from our friendly team.

🍬 Chocolate Tasting and Sensory Exploration
Children will have the opportunity to explore different chocolate flavours, textures and combinations, encouraging curiosity, sensory exploration and a greater understanding of ingredients.

🎁 Take Home Your Chocolate Creations!
The best part? Children will have the opportunity to take home their handmade chocolate creations to enjoy themselves or share with their family!

At Sheffield Young Explorers, we believe that learning should be exciting, practical and accessible to all children.

Our Skills-Based Workshops are designed to introduce children and young people to new experiences that go beyond traditional classroom learning, helping them discover hidden talents, develop new interests and gain valuable skills for the future.

Through this workshop, we aim to support children to:

• Build confidence and independence by creating something from start to finish.
• Develop creativity and imagination through experimenting with flavours, designs and decorations.
• Strengthen practical life skills through following instructions, handling ingredients and learning basic food preparation techniques.
• Improve communication and teamwork by sharing ideas, interacting with others and working collaboratively.
• Develop problem-solving and decision-making skills by choosing ingredients and designing their own chocolate creations.
• Encourage curiosity and new interests by introducing children to the creative world of chocolate making.
• Experience a sense of achievement by taking pride in something they have made themselves.

Our workshop will provide a friendly, welcoming and encouraging environment where children of different abilities and experiences can get involved, express themselves and enjoy learning something new.

No previous chocolate-making experience is required! Whether your child is trying chocolate making for the very first time or already loves experimenting in the kitchen, our activities will be designed to help everyone participate and enjoy the experience.

Please note: Chocolate-making activities may involve ingredients containing common allergens, including milk, soya and nuts. Parents and carers should provide details of any allergies or dietary requirements when registering so that these can be reviewed before attendance.
