🧭 Survival Squad – Survival Games Adventure!

Calling all young explorers, adventurers and problem-solvers! Are you ready to join the Survival Squad?

Join Sheffield Young Explorers for an action-packed Survival Games experience designed for children aged 5–12 years. This exciting four-hour session will challenge children to think, explore, work together and put their survival skills to the test through a range of fun, practical and team-based activities.

Survival Squad is all about learning through adventure. Children will be divided into teams and encouraged to complete different missions, challenges and survival-inspired games, developing their confidence and skills along the way. From testing their sense of direction to solving problems and working as a team, there will be plenty to keep our young explorers busy!

🌿 What to expect

🧭 Navigation & Compass Skills – discover the basics of direction and navigation and put those skills to the test through fun challenges.

🏕️ Survival Challenges – take part in exciting survival-inspired missions designed to encourage children to think creatively and make decisions.

🏆 Team Games & Missions – work together to complete challenges, earn points and see whether your squad has what it takes!

🧩 Problem-Solving Challenges – think outside the box, solve clues and overcome obstacles as a team.

🌳 Nature & Exploration Activities – discover more about the natural world and develop curiosity about the environment around us.

💡 Practical Skills – experience hands-on activities that encourage children to learn by doing, experimenting and trying something new.

🤝 Teamwork & Leadership – children will be encouraged to communicate, support one another, take on different roles and develop their leadership skills.

🏃 Active Fun – plenty of opportunities to move, play and enjoy an energetic day away from screens.

🌟 More than just games

Survival Squad has been designed to combine fun with meaningful learning. Through the different activities, children will have opportunities to develop resilience, confidence, independence, communication, teamwork, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

There’s no need to have any previous experience – activities will be designed to be fun and accessible, giving every child the opportunity to get involved, contribute to their squad and enjoy the adventure.

Whether they are a natural-born explorer or trying survival-style activities for the first time, we want every child to leave feeling proud of what they achieved and excited about the new skills they discovered.

A meal and refreshments will be provided during the session, giving our Survival Squad the opportunity to refuel before taking on their next challenge.
