SYE Leadership Lounge 

A Space to Dine, Discuss & Lead with Purpose 

The Leadership Lounge is a dynamic, youth‑focused empowerment event designed to support girls aged 11–18 across Sheffield in building confidence, leadership skills, and purposeful living. Set within a warm, café‑inspired atmosphere, the session blends food, conversation, and meaningful dialogue to create a space where young women can explore what leadership looks like in their own lives.

What: This event is a guided leadership and wellbeing session featuring:

  • A panel discussion with local female Sheffield leaders, who will share their insights, experiences, and wisdom.
  • A reflective conversation on living intentionally and purposefully, encouraging young people to think deeply about their values and future choices.
  • A special visit from the Deputy Mayor of South Yorkshire, offering inspiration and civic perspective.
  • A relaxed environment designed for dining, discussing, and debating.
  • Lunch included for all attendees.

When: Saturday 10th October 1pm – 3pm Held in Darnall, Sheffield.

Why: The Leadership Lounge aims to:

  • Encourage girls to explore leadership in a relatable, accessible way.
  • Provide role models who reflect the diversity and strength of Sheffield’s women.
  • Offer direct access to local leaders who can share practical wisdom, real‑life insights, and encouragement.
  • Build confidence through open conversation, shared stories, and supportive dialogue.
  • Help young people understand how intentional living and purposeful decision‑making can shape their futures.
  • Strengthen community connections and civic awareness through engagement with local leaders.

How: The session blends structured discussion with informal conversation:

  • A welcoming café‑style setting sets the tone for comfort and openness.
  • Local leaders share their journeys, challenges, and lessons learned, followed by interactive Q&A.
  • Guided prompts encourage participants to reflect on their own leadership journeys.
  • Lunch is served to create a relaxed, communal atmosphere.
  • The Deputy Mayor’s visit adds a civic dimension, highlighting leadership in public service.
