DARK NIGHTS – Firth Park Youth Movie Experience & Crafts! 🍿🎬

An exciting evening of movies, creativity, games, delicious food and unforgettable memories!

Sheffield Young Explorers, in partnership with North East Local Area Committee (LAC), is delighted to bring you Dark Nights, a FREE, fun-filled evening designed especially for children and young people aged 8–18 years.

As the evenings grow darker and colder, we are creating a warm, welcoming and safe space where young people can come together, make new friends, enjoy exciting activities and spend quality time with their peers.

Whether you love watching films, getting creative, playing games or simply relaxing with friends, Dark Nights has something for everyone!

🍿 Movie Night Experience

Sit back, relax and enjoy a fantastic movie experience with friends! We will create a cosy and welcoming atmosphere where young people can enjoy a film, delicious popcorn and tasty treats.

🎨 Creative Arts & Crafts

Unleash your creativity with a range of fun, hands-on craft activities! Young people will have the opportunity to explore their artistic side, express themselves and create something to take home.

🎲 Board Games & Social Activities

Challenge your friends to exciting board games, enjoy group activities and meet new people. Our games and social spaces will encourage teamwork, communication, confidence and positive friendships.

🍕 Delicious Food & Refreshments

No evening is complete without delicious food! We will be providing a selection of food and refreshments, including:

• Pizza and burgers
• Healthy food options
• Popcorn and sweet treats
• Snacks and refreshments

All food provided will be halal, with dietary requirements considered wherever possible. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary needs during registration.

At Sheffield Young Explorers, we recognise the importance of providing accessible, positive opportunities for children and young people, particularly during the darker autumn and winter evenings.

Dark Nights aims to:

• Provide a safe, welcoming and supervised space for young people.
• Reduce social isolation and encourage positive friendships.
• Promote creativity, confidence and emotional wellbeing.
• Offer enjoyable alternatives to spending evenings outdoors or feeling isolated at home.
• Encourage young people from different backgrounds to connect and build a stronger sense of community.
• Remove financial barriers by providing free activities, food and refreshments.

We believe every young person deserves opportunities to have fun, feel included and make positive memories, regardless of their circumstances.

👨‍👩‍👧 Important Information for Parents & Carers

Registration: All participants must be registered in advance. Places may be limited, and advance booking is essential.

Age Requirements: This event is strictly for children and young people aged 8–18 years.

Supervision: Activities will be supported by the Sheffield Young Explorers team, with appropriate safeguarding arrangements in place.

Food Allergies & Dietary Requirements: Please provide accurate information during registration so we can make suitable arrangements wherever possible.

Behaviour Expectations: We ask all young people to treat staff, volunteers and fellow participants with kindness and respect to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.

Collection Arrangements: Parents and carers should ensure suitable arrangements are in place for their child's safe journey home, particularly as the event finishes at 9:00pm.
